Are Robis for kids or adults?
Both! My children love fidgeting and playing with Robis and so do my adult clients and designer friends. Robis are just as at home in a child's bedroom as they are in a designer interior. My dream is that one day you might find Robis in a toy store and in the MoMA Store!

Are Robis safe?
Robis are made from non-toxic plant based PLA. They are robust and have undergone many hours of testing by my children and their friends. However they will break if mistreated and could produce small parts as a result. This is why I conservatively suggest Robis are for ages 5 to 105.

How are Robis made?
Robis are 3D printed using FDM (fuse deposition modelling) where fine layers of molten PLA are printed slice by slice to make a part. It's kinda like a tiny toothpaste machine! If you look closely you can see and even feel the texture of these fine layers.

Why are Robis 3D printed?
3D printing enables shapes and assemblies that would be difficult with traditional moulding. 3D printing also allow the use of more sustainable materials such as PLA. Perhaps most exciting is that 3D printing means I can produce on demand; no wasted inventory and the ability to manufacture new ideas almost as fast as I can dream them!

Can I Build My Own Robi?
Robi's hats, hair, heads, bodies, legs and footwear are all interchangeable. With two or more Robis their parts can be mixed and matched to your heart's desire to make your own unique Robi.

What's in the Robi box?
Robi comes packaged in a beautiful wardrobe-like fluted cardboard box with a unique 3D printed latch. I have been pleasantly surprised by how much kids love using Robi's box as a fun accessory to play. But then again, what kid doesn't love a good cardboard box?

How much to ship Robi?
Shipping within New Zealand is NZ$10. Shipping is free for orders over NZ$100. Shipping to Australia is NZ$35.

Where can Robi be shipped to?
Currently Robis are only allowed to travel within New Zealand and Australia. Once they are a little older they might be able to travel further afield..

Can I change or cancel my Robi order?
I get it, it can be hard to decide with so many of these little cuties on offer. If you get in quick, before Robi has shipped, I am happy to change your order.

Can I return my Robi
I will be sad and Robi will be bummed too but if Robi is in its original condition and packaging (with no wear or damage) I can offer a refund to the original payment method within 7 days of the delivery date. Shipping charges are non-refundable. Unfortunately returns initiated or communicated outside of this timeframe are not possible.

Robi is a playful little figurine designed and made in New Zealand by me, Jamie McLellan.
It all began when my son asked me to design him a robot. My daughter then asked for the robot to have a girlfriend. They named them Robi. Many iterations of Robi have since been built, broken, refined and rebuilt.
Robi is 3D printed in plant based PLA. All of Robi’s parts are modular and can be mixed and matched in millions of fun ways.
Just as at home on your desk as it is in the toy box, Robi is suitable for ages 5 to 105.
